Robin Stewart is an English actor who is best known for playing Mike Abbott in the 1970s sitcom Bless This House.
He acted on television and in feature films in both the UK and Australia. Some of his UK film roles include The Haunted House of Horror as Henry, and The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires as Leyland Van Helsing.
He played the main role of Mike Abbott in situation comedy series Bless This House its entire 1971-1976 run, but was not cast in the role for the movie version; the part going to Robin Askwith. After moving to Australia he had a stint acting in Australian soap operas "The Young Doctors" as a villanous character trying to silence a blind patient who had overheard his criminal acts, and Sons and Daughters as the villanous doctor Ross Newman.[1]
Other roles in Australia include a lead role in sex comedy feature film Pacific Banana (1981), and an appearance in prison based soap opera Punishment (1981). He was also for a time the host of an Australian version of the well known television talent show Opportunity Knocks.
